Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.
This week, I am waiting on...
Touching the Surface by Kimberly Sabatini

Expected Publication Date: October 30, 2012
Publisher: Simon Pulse
Synopsis: Life altering mistakes are meant to alter lives…
When Elliot dies for the third time, she knows this is her last shot. There are no fourth-timers in this afterlife, so one more chance is all she has to get things right. But before she can move on to her next life, Elliot will be forced to face her past and delve into the painful memories she’d rather keep buried. Memories of people she’s hurt, people she’s betrayed… and people she’s killed.
As she pieces together the mistakes of her past, Elliot must earn the forgiveness of her best friend and reveal the truth about herself to the two boys she loves…even if it means losing them both forever.
Why I'm Waiting: I've always been a big fan of multiple lives in books! It's such a fascinating concept, and from the synopsis, it sounds like Kimberly Sabatini has written a fabulous addition to the fantasy/paranormal genre. This book sounds emotional, poignant, and wonderful. SO. EXCITED! <3

Yes, books with multiple lives are always an interesting concept. As are rules set up about how things happen when we die, which seems to be going on here, too. I hadn't heard about this one before. Thanks for sharing. :)

ReplyDeleteHere's MY WOW POST
Multiple lives is indeed an interesting topic to read about. Perhaps you would like 'My name is memory' (if you haven't read that one already :p) The ending kinda sucks (but I believe there will be another book), but the overal concept of more lives is fascinating!

Love the blurb! The idea of multiple lives is just so enticing. <3 This one is also on my wishlist!
ReplyDeletereveal the truth about herself to the two boys she loves... Well, finger crossed that even if it's a love triangle, it's a good one! Brilliant pick, Sophia! <3
I can never get enough of novels featuring multiple lives, and this one looks positively awesome. I'm in love with the cover as well. Thanks for the feature!
ReplyDeleteMy WOW @ YA Books
this1 sounds good and the cover does not hurt
ReplyDeleteThe fact that there seems to be a built in love triangle in this one gives me a little pause, but the rest of it sounds amazing! And sometimes I think a love triangle can be done really well, so fingers crossed that this will be one of those times! This one is new to me, thanks Sophia!
ReplyDeleteAwesome pick! I love the idea of her dying three times and then having to go over everything again. It's very interesting. :) I'll ignore the love triangle mentioned because this book sounds amazing. XD
ReplyDeleteReally great choice, I also like the whole multiple lives thing that's been sweeping through YA lit. Please check out my WoW.
ReplyDeleteWe're also doing an audio giveaway of Dead End in Norvelt and ARC of Purity by Jackson Pearce.
Thanks!
